The Greatest Movie Trailers of All Time: Star Wars The Force Awakens
Although it doesn't actually drop until Christmas, The Force Awakens is without a doubt the most anticipated movie this millennium has yet seen. People have been talking about it non stop since even the idea was whispered from Lucasfilm's lips so many star moons ago.
The first full 'Official' trailer dropped this past week, but this second teaser trailer for the film, which showed up a couple months back, is even better in my estimation. Pop the YouTube link below to check it out:

From what the trailer shows us, it looks like tapping director J.J. Abrams on the shoulder for this huge undertaking was the right move. Abrams looks to have struck the perfect balance between the nostalgia prickling feel of the original trilogy, while still taking advantage of current day filmmaking technology. After all, we want it to feel like 1977, we don't want it to look like it.
The reason I like this teaser better than the also great full trailer, and the reason I'm already nominating it as one of the greatest trailers ever, is because it gives us enough to get excited about, really excited, but holds enough back to remain mysterious. It doesn't give us much, which is great. I don't want much. I want to be either blown away when the movie hits, or utterly disappointed, because with Star Wars, just ok is a catastrophe. We don't need another Episode 1, we need another Episode 4. From what this little snippet of a teaser gives us, we may just get it. It's gonna be a good Christmas.
